How is Electric Sheep IO different of a shell script running as a cronjob ?

I can create bash/dash/zsh/whatever scripts and use Cron to schedule their execution. So why should I bother installing Electric Sheep IO ?

Electric Sheep IO is designed to be centrally managed and does not require any configuration on your server nodes. Electric Sheep IO access your remote hosts securely and provides abstractions of system or database tools, storages and network protocols. You can stick to your tools of choice without having to know all the nitty-gritty details of each of them.

Electric Sheep IO handles the scheduling and rotation of your backups and pushes notifications on your channel of choice each time a backup has completed or failed.
